There have been horses at Cefn Coch Farm for many generations with Des’ father driving welsh cobs and hackneys. With the arrival of the next generation of Olivers, it was decided to buy in something slightly smaller to make handling easier for them and therefore several Section C Fillies were purchased from the sales. Of these, two lines still exist at the stud today, namely Synod Gladness f.1993 (Synod Lord Charles x Synod Gay Bird) and her progeny as well as the descendents of the now deceased Synod Rose-Anna f.1993 (Synod Rum Punch x Synod Rally).
The main emphasis at the stud today is that both the Section C and Section Ds bred must have the conformation and temperament to serve a purpose other than just being shown in hand. Stock of all ages is often FOR SALE and there may also be the opportunity to lease several of the stallions at stud.”
